Hello,
This item is a reproduction of “The Magdalen” by Carlo Dolci, an Italian Baroque painter renowned for his meticulous religious compositions. The reproduction was made by Louis Pisani, reflecting the original’s emotional depth and detailed execution, albeit with a reduced market value due to its nature as a copy rather than an original work by Dolci.
Historically, the original work by Dolci, created in the 17th century, embodies the Baroque era’s dramatic and devotional style. Dolci’s paintings are characterized by their intense emotional expression and detailed brushwork, aimed at evoking piety. This reproduction seeks to capture those elements, maintaining the religious and aesthetic appeal typical of Baroque art, although it does not achieve the same level of mastery as the original.
