It appears to be a color chalk drawing on paper. The title and year created (1704) is written on the back of the picture. 14 (w) x 22 (h). Artist's first initial only and last name (W. Read) is written on the front of the picture. Unfortunately, another picture was framed on top of the picture of interest, when removing the first picture a piece of it stuck to the picture of interest. I would like to have it appraised before repairing it.

This is an early 20th century, around 1920s - 1930s color lithograph print entitled Woodland Nymphs that features two nude women frolicking in a forest. The 1704 is the order inventory number from the publisher and not the year in which this was produced. It is a print that was produced in multiples and not a one-of-a-kind original pastel drawing. There is a W. Read signature 'in-plate' meaning it is part of the print and it is likely for William Henry Read (1851 - 1935) who was from Colorado, These images were done as commercial art and commissioned by publishers. The estimate does factor in the small condition issue and is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
