This is a lovely water color piece - signature in ink. Original.
18 inches across and 12 inches high.
Dear Betsy Friedman,
Thank you for your appraisal submission. The work is a lithograph on paper of women seated in a cafe after Itzchak Tarkay (Israeli, 1935-2012). The signature to the lower right corner appears to be inscribed in ink over the signature in plate. From the images provided, the work appears to be in good condition with minimal wear and toning to the sheet. It measures 18 x 12 inches.
Itzchak Tarkay and his reproductions are common to the market. As this work is not numbered, and the signature is inscribed over the plate, rather than a graphite signature to the lower edges, this work is likely not authentic. Tarkay's original paintings can sell just below $10,000, authentic serigraphs after his paintings can sell within the lower thousands. As this work appears to be an inauthentic, small size reproduction, we estimate this work between $0 and $200.
Thank you again for your submission. This appraisal is conditional based on the inauthenticity.
Kind regards,
Charlotte .
