This is an old and rare crucifix discovered by chance at an antique market among very old items. Material: Heavy metal (non-magnetic, possibly brass or a gold-plated alloy). Color: Light yellow with some darker (black) spots; slightly reddish areas on the back. Dimensions: Frame thickness: 0.5 cm Height: 5.5 cm Width: 5 cm Depth (thickness): 0.2 cm Weight: Approximately 17 grams. The surface featuring the Christ figure is rough to the touch and sparkles slightly when exposed to light. The Christ figure is detailed with simple engravings at the waist, chest, hands, and feet, with small nails visible. No maker’s marks, hallmarks, or dates are visible. The crucifix design is quite angular and minimalistic, somewhat resembling ancient styles. After extensive research, no identical or similar piece was found online, suggesting it may be very rare. Additional Notes: Found in Belgium (Liège area). The frame and Christ figure are solid and finely crafted. Might be lightly gold-plated. A beautiful piece for collectors of religious antiques, Christian art, or historical artifacts.
