The presented object appears to be the hardcover book written by the Scottish poet James Thompson (1700-1748) with the title "The Seasons". It was printed by Gavin Alston in Edingburgh in the year 1730. This is the first edition publication of this book by James Thompson. There was a second publication in London with four engraved illustrations of the same title by James Thompson which is slightly higher priced. The cover is leather-bound and the pages are in medium condition and show foxing stains visible in the images provided.
