Three section, two level breakfront with secretary
The breakfront was purchased in 1955. The center drawer pulls out to become a secretary with a lift-up top that has a gold tooled leather insert. The top doors all have curved glass panes. There are three interior glass shelves across each of the three upper sections. The upper section separates from the bottom section and has wooden pins that allow the proper alignment. There are a total of three drawers and the cabinets below those have wooden shelves. The upper sections and lower cabinets all have locks. The upper interior back wall and upper bottom shelf all are lined with a light colored wallpaper to help highlight the contents. There is also an electric light to illuminate the interior. The height of the breakfront is 80 1/2 inches, maximum width is 68 1/2 inches (with an additional 1 3/4 inches wide ledge on either side) and the maximum depth is 13 1/2 inches in the upper center section. The top side sections are 17 1/4 inches wide and 11 inches deep. The bottom section is 30 1/2 inches tall.

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be what you suggested, a breakfront bookcase type cabinet with included secretary, walnut veneered, manufactured in the 1950s. Such impressive pieces of furniture are in lesser demand today, although made to last and made by excellent craftsmen. The estimate is based on similar sold at auction. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the item
