Hi Jay,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Tiffany was one of several companies making stained glass and slag glass lamps in the early 20th century and certainly one of the more famous and most desirable. They're pieces were nearly always signed / stamped or labeled LC Tiffany, Tiffany & Co., or Tiffany Studios. - with shades they were marked on the rim. Can you take a look and let me know if this is marked and, if it is, take a photograph and add it to this inquiry?
Thanks!
Delia
OK.
It could be any number of makers in that case, so I'll evaluate this as an unattributed shade - still attractive and somewhat valuable based on decorative merit alone but not, unfortunately, as valuable as if it could be linked to a specific maker.
Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An Art Nouveau style domed leaded glass and gilt bronze lamp shade
unattributed, American or European, first half 20th Century
of domed profile, the shade with six triangular sections and gilt bronze mullions.
6 3/8 inches high, 18 inches diameter
PROVENANCE: inherited
$100-150*

Thank you so much. This was a very positive experience.
Happy to hear it and always happy to help!
Thanks for the reply, Delia. No luck finding a stamp or any other marks.
