800 silver demitasse spoons from pre-WWII Palestine, in what later became Israel
antique dealer in the early 1970's
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a set of demitasse silverspoons, decorated with a bird and tree motif and a simplified neo-renaissance motif on the handle. The basic design is similar to georgian fiddle spoons, the execution is rather provincial, the "80" hallmark apparently refers to a silver content of 80% silver. The silver spoons in your possession were most likely made during the era of British Administration in the 1920-1940s. The estimate is based on similar silver items of this region offered or sold at auction. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to it.
