Louis Comfort Tiffany and Tiffany Studios innovated interior lighting (floor and table lamps and chandeliers) that utilized stained glass in brass shades on bronze bases; these were comparatively expensive but so popular that they were copied more affordably by numerous other designers, including Bradley & Hubbard, Salem Bros, Miller Lamp Co, and the Royal Art Glass Co, to name a few. The number "86" is the model number; the name of the maker is most likely marked *somewhere* on either the shade or base.
A virtually identical lamp sold at auction recently for $125.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique American slag glass and brass table lamp
early 20th Century
The six-sided faceted domed shade with mottled green/brown slag glass panels and mottled red slag glass behind cast brass foliated overlay, on a naturalistically cast brass base on circular foot, marked "86".
Overall height: 22 inches; diameter of shade: 22 inches
CONDITION: This lamp appears to be in good condition.
