Hi Elisa,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Timothy Theodore Duncan was born on April 25, 1976, in Christiansted, St. Croix (U.S. Virgin Islands). He originally trained as a competitive swimmer, but after Hurricane Hugo destroyed the local pool and his mother’s passing, he shifted to basketball in his teens. He played college basketball at Wake Forest University (1993–1997). He won numerous awards, including Naismith College Player of the Year (1997), and was the #1 overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft.
He spent his entire career (1997-2016) with the San Antonio Spurs, playing center/power forward. He was nicknamed “The Big Fundamental” for his efficient, no-frills style of play.
Career Stats: he averaged 19.0 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game across 19 seasons.
Key Achievements:
5× NBA Champion (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2014)
3× NBA Finals MVP (1999, 2003, 2005).
2× NBA MVP (2002, 2003).
15× NBA All-Star.
15× All-NBA Team and 15× NBA All-Defensive Team selections.
The Spurs won 1,001 regular season games during his career — most by a player with a single franchise at the time of retirement.
This special edition bear was released in 1999, celebrating Tim Duncan and the Spurs, likely timed around their championship pursuits that year. Only 5,000 of these bears were ever produced; yours is numbered 611 of 5,000 making it one of the earlier ones produced in that production run.
These can currently be acquired online for prices ranging from $15-55; if this were to be sold in a transparent (non-eBay) auction, this would likely sell between $20 and $30.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
