Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful bracelet/cuff. Such vintage jewellery are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The design of the bracelet cuff is very typical of the 1970s when this type of bracelet - the cuff - was in fashion. The same goes for the choice of stone - the turquoise stone has been very popular in a large part of the 20th century and in particular in the last quarter of the century. The description/photo of the marks do not indicate that it is silver. However a large piece like this set with turquoise stones and in this particular design would almost always be made of silver, however if there are no other marks you would have to have it tested by a silversmith/jewellery shop in order to make sure that it is silver and not just silverplated. The estimate given is assuming that the cuff is made of silver.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the cuff has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the beautiful cuff with turquoise stones. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
Thank you for your comment. I believe you are quite right with regards to the abbreviation Navajo Hand Made Sterling Silver and the initials of the maker. I have seen a very similar cuff on ebay however with different initials. This one also dates from the 1970s. The estimate on this is higher than the appraisal I gave you, however on ebay the seller sets their own limit price. I would suggest keeping an eye on this item and see how much it sells for.
Please write again should you have any further questions. I have un-ticked the conditional box as it is made of sterlingsilver.
Kind regards
Thank you
Thank you. What does the initials on the band stand for? NHMSS. RT. Someone online suggested Navajo hand made Serling silver followed by the artist initials - RT. I did find a Navajo artist with initials RT also listed on slant.
