Stone Lithograph Print. 16 of 50. Width 16 inches Length 22 1/2 inches
I don't know any history. I bought this on a whim in 1992 from a friend.
Dear Patrick,
Thank you for your help and patience.
The presented object appears to be a lithograph print on paper with the measurements of 22 1/2 x 16 inches. The print depicts a mountainside with a lake in the middle and an architecture or little village with a church in the foreground. The signature is sadly not clearly readable and could be widely interpreted as Gantner. The motif and signature fit with the artist
Bernard GANTNER (1928-2018). The motif reminds me of some lakes in the Alps. This piece was probably made in the 1980s or 1990s. As an edition number, it has EA which means this print was made before the edition starts.
Works by this artist were recently not offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 50 to 100 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
I added images. The artist is possibly Bernard Ganter. I only know this because I sent another print to Mearto and one of your colleagues said it "appeared" to be him. The signatures are the same.
Thank you...
