previous owner. I purchased it from second hand store about 20 years ago. I have been wondering since purchase what the story is in the picture and I would if possible, like to know the artist and the message between the woman and child plus any value it may or may not have.. Fourth photo shows actual colour and tones..
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be an american lithograph of approx. 1870s. Unfortunately the titel or name of the publisher at the bottom was cut off (or is folded and not visible). For conservation reasons I would remove the wooden board at the back and exchange it for acid free cardboard. I could imagine that this lithograph is part of an "american winter scenes series" by Currier & Ives or another publisher of that era. The estimate is based on similar prints offered or sold at auction.
Thank you very much Klaus. This has been hanging on my wall for about 20 yrs. where I think it will return.. It has been a great conversation piece..
