Unknown ship painting
This is an unknown, unsigned original painting that my Great-Grandfather on my fathers side found at a dump site right after the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. My Great-Grandfather had a horse and buggy/trailer he rode around San Francisco in hauling things. He also found a beautiful rocking chair in the SF earthquake dump site as well that works perfect and is still at my father's house. We were all born and raised in San Francisco area. The painting measures 17 3/4 inches wide and 26 inches tall. I cannot find a signature anywhere. The photos show the wear of the canvas around the edge as well as a couple tiny holes in the painting. Canvas is attached to canvas frame by small nails all the way around as visible in photo. The paint is "crackled" with age. Unsure if frame is the original. Frame is old and not attached to painting. Both were sent together to me last year by my father but painting was held in place in frame by a couple nails which I removed.
Found by my Great-Grandfather on my fathers side at a dump site after the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. It was given to me by my father last year. Nothing known about it.

The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil paint on canvas with the measurements of 26 x 17 3/4 inches. The painting depicts a ship of the late 15th and 16th centuries on the open sea. Perhaps this ship could be identified as one of the fleet of Christopher Columbus. The painting is not signed and it could be made in the late 19th century or 20th century.
This piece is in medium condition and there is no serious damage like the canvas itself visible in the images provided. The surface of the panting is strongly soiled.
A fair market estimation would be between 150 to 350 USD.
