Porcelain Base 3.75"x 2.5" Approx 5.5" wide center Mouth 4.25" x 2.75x Height 9.5" No marks that I can find
Found at thrift store
Dear Joshua,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a ceramic vase with the measurements of 9.5 height. The vase is decorated with a copper decor and was made around 1900. Sadly the vase is not hallmarked.
This piece is in medium condition and there is a crack on the bottom visible.
An estimation would be between 30 to 60 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
Dear Joshua,
Thank you for your feedback. We name details like the height to make sure that this estimation is used for this object only. That is the usual procedure. The flower decor and the abstract ornaments are a hint that this piece was made by an artist inspired by the Art Nouveau style. The localization is very difficult because there were many smaller companies in America and especially in Europe which produced objects like this. The design is definitely not French or Italian. It could be made in Great Britain or central Europe like Bohemia which was a center for ceramic production with a high output of pieces which are unmarked.
With kind regards,
Georg
Thanks for the extra information. I just found what looks like a type of mark on the bottom of the vase. Also the porcelain inside has kind of a green tint. Might this change anything?
Dear Joshua,
sadly this does not change the localization or date. Probably the ceramic and the metal parts were made by two different workshops.
With kind regards,
Georg
I appreciate you taking your time on this, however I was hoping you would provide more details than the obvious. I know it’s height... because I sent that to you. Lol, but what about the style? You say 1900s, which is great, but is there any type of art style or country/region this resembles. I feel like I just spent 20 dollars for you to essentially tell me most of what I know and see.
