48” long
It’s still belongs to my parents. My father purchased it from a collector with the two others in the early 70s.
Dear Joan,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry and I wish you a Happy New Year.
The presented object appears to be a percussion lock rifle with a total length of 48 inches. This rifle was made in the middle of the 19th century and the stock was probably made from nut wood.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 200 to 400 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
Dear Joan,
Thank you for your email and your trust. Sadly we have a consigning limit of 1.000 USD. Please offer your rifle to a local auction house that lists their auction on international platforms to reach out to as many possible buyers as possible. Or offer it through an online-based auction or selling platform.
With kind regards,
Georg
We would like to put this rifle up for sale. Do I simply change the "Maybe" to "For Sale"? What else do I need to know about selling/shipping a firearm?
Thank you
