Dear Walter Balan,
Thank you for this additional appraisal submission. The work is a mixed media (acrylic, spray paint, and day glo) painting on paper by Humberto Dionisio (Cuban, 1950-1987). The untitled painting is a street art style figural composition dated to 1980. From the photographs provided, the work appears to be in good condition with slight warping to the paper in frame, measuring 22 x 34 inches. It is signed and dated to the lower right.
Humberto Dionisio attended Havana's National School of Design. In 1980, he emigrated to Miami, Florida where he lived and worked for the remainder of his life. Dionisio worked in various media including poster, painting, and sculpture. Despite his strong exhibition record, Dionisio's works have not sold on the secondary market. Without a market history, the estimated value does not account for artist-specific buyer demand, and instead turns to more general sales trends of street art, art by Cuban artists, or works from the 1980s. Each comparable work within these categories has a variety of value factors, and therefore leaves an uncontrolled margin of difference. Considering these trends, we estimate the Fair Market Value of this work between $200 and $500.
Thank you for your appraisal submission.
Kind regards,
Charlotte B.
