Scabbard and blade. Cavalry sword. Blade in great condition. Scabbard rusted
My father. He wore it during the Civil War reenactment’s.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry, and I apologize for the delay. This is a Model 1850 Foot Officer's sword marked and dated with A.D.K. (Andrew D. King) U.S. Armory inspector mark. The blade is in good condition, and the etching is in good and visible shape. There is minimal corrosion on the blade. The handle is intact and in excellent condition, with the brass in good shape with a healthy patina. The scabbard is more distressed, but in sound condition with no pieces missing. Given the condition of this piece, and completed auctions of similar items, a fair market estimation is 850-900 dollars. Please reach out with any questions.
