What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a copy of a M1832 Foot Artillery sword. The design is based on the roman gladius, all brass pommel, fish-scale grip and straight crossguard, iron blade, artificially aged, marked "Made .. .merica". Such markings were used after the introduction of the Tariff act of 1890, but production of the sword in your possession might be much later. The estimate is based on similar items actually sold at auction. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attacht to the item.
