According to the photographs provided, your work is signed ‘V Esposito’ and because we are unable to distinguish which of the many artists named Esposito or D’Esposito it is, we cannot offer any biographical information for the artist. However, there are many auction listings for this artist under this signature and the work bears a great resemblance to the painting of Vincenzo D'Esposito such as this one sold here a few years ago:

Your painting is a portrait of a sailor, signed on the lower right. It measures 12”x 16”. The condition looks good overall.

The size of the painting is 12"x 16". Also my husband said he believes the painting is over 60 yrs old
