Size 10. 18 karat yellow gold. There are chips on the front surface and along edges. 3/8 x 5/8 for the cameo.
Was my grandmother's but am unsure if she purchased or inherited.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful gold ring with cameo. Such vintage jewellery are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The design of the ring is typical of the early 1900s. Apart from the gold ring I think that the cameo might be made of cut onyx or perhaps enamel- it is hard to tell from the photographs but it appears to have some damage in the corners which looks the way enamel would be worn and cracked. The front of the ring has a lovely motif and is very charming. It is a nice ring that probably represents a higher sentimental value than an actual sales value.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the ring has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the lovely gold ring. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
