This was purchased in the 60’s. COA’s were not issued at that time. (They did not begin until the 80’s). I’m not sure if dust bags or boxes were used at that time, but I don’t have them.

It is a beautiful vintage Chanel handbag. Such vintage designer accessories and items are being offered at auction on a regular basis.

The handbag appears to be in very good condition despite it age of +50 years. It has the classical items of the interlocking C's, the quilting and the gold hardware with Chanel logos. The handbag appears to be made of calfskin which was one of the preferred Chanel handbag materials.
When talking about vintage Chanel bags prior to 1985 it is hard to authenticate without seeing the handbag in real life. Most Chanel bags have a burgundy interior, however due to the age of your bag it could be an early variation.
The thickness of the interlocking quilted C's should be the same width as the gap between the C's. From the photo the gap appears to be slightly wider than the C's width. The quilting should have 10 or more stitches - as far as I can count there is only 9 stitched in the quilting.
These minor details makes me slightly uncertain that the handbag is an authentic vintage Chanel handbag, therefore I have ticked the conditional box. I would suggest that the bag is authenticated by an expert who can examine the bag in person.

Should it turn out to be original I believe that it would attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online vintage accessories auction, where I believe the handbag has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the Chanel handbag. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
