Such furniture was built by large manufacturers and sold in department stores. The wood is partly oak and for the most part veneered plywood. The estimate is based on similar items offered or sold at auction. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to it.
