This is a rather rustic looking cabinet by Drexel Furniture Co. that was in a house we inherited. We know something about the Drexel Co. but we don't know much about this piece.--We've not been able to find one like it online. So we thought to tap into your expertise and ask you about it. The measurements are 39" wide x 32" high x 17.5" deep. We don't know why the top and front of it are so worn & splotchy looking, and if this increases or decreases its value. Thank you for your time and consideration, we look forward to your assessment.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for using Mearto for your appraisal inquiry.
It looks like this has been sandblasted and I can't tell what the wood is - maybe maple or cherry; certainly the condition is a detriment to value. If wouldn't lose value if you stripped it and refinished it, or painted it, though if you are considering selling it, you should probably sell it 'as is' and let the new owner spruce it up as they'd like.
Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage provincial Louis XV style commode
'Peasant Provincial' line for Drexel, second half 20th Century
The rectangular top with rounded front corners over a frame fitted with a long drawer over two paneled cabinet drawers opening to a shelved interior, on short cabriole legs.
32 inches high by 39 inches wide by 17 1/2 inches deep
CONDITION: surface in poor condition but otherwise appears to be structurally sound.
PROVENANCE: inherited
$150-250*
