Made of paper, this is a glossy egg that opens into 2 halves. It is 4 inches tall x 3 inches wide. No tears inside or out, but creases from wear. The inside of the base has "Container made in Western Germany" printed and a handwritten 40.
Not sure of exact date, but my dad had it when he was a child, and he was born in 1933.
