Description
Black Gucci handbag. 9" wide 7" tall 36" strap which doubles as a purse or shoulder bag. Goldtone clasp on front with Interlocking G's. inside zippered pocket with Gucci gold fob. 26*01*3970 stamped in golden inside top of bag. button clasp is off the purse, but is saved inside.
Provenance
The contents of this estate belonged to a very interesting couple living in San Rafael. This couple had been very instrumental in creating the United Nations concept from the beginning of it's inception in San Francisco. There were two bags like this. One red, one Black.

Is "26-01-3970" embossed directly onto the inside of the bag or is it on a distinct tag?

Hi Brian,
I got your message from customer service and yes, I am in agreement that this is not "right;" the embossed crest on the leather looks a little faint and any serial numbers were always printed on tags.
As a "fake" Gucci bag, this has a decorative vintage look and value of $30-50.
