Estate sale - found alongside other designer clothing (Versace jacket, Dolce & Gabbana peacoat with fur collar, Prada shirts, etc.) It was in a Gucci bag, but I was only able to find one example of it elsewhere (sold on 1stdibs, but not sure how much it went for)
Came from estate, two gentleman who owned restaurants and traveled often.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful Gucci jacket of leather and fur. Such vintage designer clothes are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
From the photos you can tell that it is a very well made jacket that was expensive when first bought, the materials used are of high quality.
When selling designer clothes second hand the name and brand is very important to potential buyers and the fact that the Gucci label is intact adds to the value. As for the fur on the exterior/ or inside if it is a reversible jacket, it makes the jacket very unique and perhaps it also makes a few people turn away due to their convictions.
However I believe that this jacket is so special and in good condition that it would still attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online designer clothes auction, where I believe the Gucci jacket has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the Gucci jacket. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
From my view of the item, it shows as the 3rd picture.
Thank you so much for pointing that out - I had missed that information. In that case the estimate is much higher. I have altered the appraisal and the estimate.

Thank you! I have one more question.
I mostly handle furniture & antiques, so I don't have a lot of experience selling high-end designer clothing. As I said in my original submission, this jacket was part of an estate I was helping clear out and was found alongside some other designer items. We also have a D&G coat, two Versace jackets (one of which is, by far, the ugliest thing I've ever seen, but apparently very real), as well as some designer shirts and pants.
In your initial response, you mentioned that you believe this would have the best chance of realizing its full potential at auction. Can you expand on that, or offer any suggestions for which auction house/platform I should look into for selling all these items?
*Correction-- the coat was not D&G, but Dolce & Gabbana. I was just abbreviating, and didn't realize that D&G is actually a different line.
Thank you for your comment.

Perhaps there is a local highend secondhand designer clothes store that you may get a deal with. As for auctions it is mainly the larger items as coats, furs and all kinds of handbags that are sold here.
Please write again if you have additional questions. I am happy to help.
Kind regards
Beg your pardon, but the Gucci Tag IS indeed shown in the photo. Please see the image of the inside of jacket (NOT the closeup of the "50% Fur 50% Leather Made in Italy" or the care instructions, but the inside of the left breast area). The tag is Gucci, and there is a size tag (52) below that.
