We’re trying to identify and appraise a collection of vintage Japanese artwork. Each piece appears to be hand-painted on thin silk or a similar fabric. They include a variety of traditional scenes — not just Mount Fuji, but also tigers, temples, boats, trees, and pagodas — all very detailed and colorful. Some are mounted on hardboard, others are more flexible with a backing that looks like rice paper or cloth. A few are signed, and many are labeled “Made in Japan.” We believe these may be mid-century export art pieces, possibly from the 1950s–1970s, but we’re unsure of their origin, technique, or value. We’re looking for expert help confirming what these are, who might have made them, and whether they’re considered collectible or valuable.
