Vintage porcelain bust figurine depicting a young Victorian-era girl with auburn curly hair and blue eyes. The piece features intricate lace-textured dress and bonnet in pale blue and white tones with delicate floral detailing. The figurine appears to be hand-painted with fine detail work. The bottom shows a maker’s mark/signature (visible in photo 4, though the specific marking would need closer examination to identify). The piece is in good vintage condition with the characteristic crazing in the glaze that’s typical of older porcelain. The lace detailing shows excellent preservation with no visible chips or damage.
Approximately 3 to 3.5 inches tall
Hi BC,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The wavy-line mark is that of Royal Copenhagen, one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious porcelain manufactories. It was founded in 1775 under royal patronage in Denmark, they produced true hard-paste porcelain at a time when the secret was newly mastered outside Asia; its production continues today, largely with collectible figures etc rather than home goods as it used to.
I can't find a pattern name or model for this figure but it was probably made in the mid 20th Century and is worth now a fairly nominal sum at auction, certainly below $40.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
