This is an antique early 20th century souvenir postcard that featuring the White City amusement park in Chicago, Illinois. The postcard, done in color lithograoh printing was published by Schmidt & Co. of New York and Chicago. The 'Mailing Card' back was authorized by Congress in 1896, however, this postcard itself dates to the early 20th century, likely just after World War I (1918). The White City amusement park was open from 1904 - 1933. A roller rink at the park did stay open until 1949. Some versions of this postcard were decorated with added red glitter on the rooftops. Some were also printed with a free admission ticket from local area hotels and businesses and given to their patrons. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
