Gifted to my uncle during WWII
Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Most model train production halted during WWII when the resources were devoted to munitions. This was made after WWII.
A related example was sold at auction in 2010 for $30; there are slight differences in the cars and the wear on your condition is more extensive but the market for these now is a bit better. (https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/7666882_1030-1950-s-marx-stream-line-electric-train-set)

Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.
My uncle look all over each car. He has found no identifying marks. One of the cars has MAR Lines painted on the sides.
These were a set purchased together in the 40’s.
