I inherited this antique art panel when my uncle passed away. He traveled all over the world and collected interesting pieces wherever he went. I was told this piece is from Russia. Size is 12” x 9 3/4” x 1”

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a russian icon, an icon showing the mother of god of Kazan (KAZANSKAJA) 2nd half of the 19th century. Tempera on wood panel, haloes are gilded. Overall condition is good with only very little restoration necessary. The estimate is based on recent auction results. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the item.
