Lamps of this kind were popular tourist items, either acquired overseas or sold in Chinatowns in big cities such as New York City, San Francisco or Los Angeles. The green stone is probably jadeite, which the Chinese consider to be lucky. It looks as though there are some stylized figures carved into this lamp, which is mounted with pierced brass upper cuff and teakwood base.
At auction, lamps such as this usually sell for less than $300.
