63 pieces. 12 four-pc place settings(knives, forks, salad forks, teaspoons) plus 7 soup spoons , six butter knives and two serving spoons. Rambler Rose pattern—not sure when purchased. Brochure in chest is dated 1964. Part may have been a wedding present in 1948, and then the set may have been added to later? 7 of the knife blades are marked “TOWLE Stainless” and the other five are marked “TOWLE Sterling Handle Stainless Blade”
The set belonged to my parents.
Dear Jacquelyn,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few better images of the silver marks?
Thanks
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. I have managed to enlarge the photos to see the silver marks.
It is a beautiful Rambler Rose flatware. Such American flatware sets are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The design is very decorative with the detailed rose pattern at the top of the flatware and down the handle of the knives. It is stylish and classic. The set is also very complete which is of some importance if you would want to sell it. As a new buyer does not need to stock up but can use the 12 4-pc setting straight away.
The flatware was produced in the first part of the 20the century and was quite a succes right away.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online silver auction, where I believe the Rambler Rose flatware has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the beautiful flatware. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
