This ring is from an estate that would date it to 1940's or earlier. The band is 14 caret yellow gold plate and I suspect the center stone is a diamond and the 6 side stones are diamonds. I do not know for sure if these stones are diamonds. The ring looks to be size 6 or 7. I am including a number of photos. When I compare the main stone to a ring stone that is a known diamond they look virtually the same to me.
Obtained from a within family estate but exact history unknown.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. And thank you for the additional information and photos.
It is a beautiful vintage diamond ring. Such vintage jewellery are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The design of the ring is very classic and elegant. It is a lovely engagement ring with a pretty design. From your description of the larger stone in the middle, I would say that it is about 0,1 carat. The larger diamond is surrounded by smaller diamonds on each side set in a line design. I agree with you that the ring is from the first half of the 1900s - probably around the 1930s-1940s. It is made of 14 carat gold.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the vintage diamond engagement ring has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the beautiful ring. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
I rounded up a better camera and took some better closeup shots. The large stone measures 3 mm diameter. Let me know if you need more photos or information. Thanks!
