The piece is stamped with Walt Disney PROD and is in very good condition. There is a chip on one of the fingers. A picture of this is included.
Snow White is 16" tall
Hi Ashley,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Some of these were mold-made, some by Evan K. Shaw Co. (Los Angeles), who often sold under the “American Pottery” name. In the 1940s–50s they held a Disney license and made large, glossy, hand-painted ceramic figures of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs—many around 14–16 inches—and a lot of them are marked only “Walt Disney Prod.”
These figures, while not common, are not exactly rare and other ones have sold at auction for less than $100; I should be clear that the damage to the finger, small though it is, will negatively impact the value of this.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage 8-figure set of Walt Disney Productions Snow White and the Seven Dwarves ceramic figures
Possibly by Evan K. Shaw & American Pottery, mid 20th Century
Depicting a standing Snow White with arms outstretched, back of statue stamped "WALT DISNEY PROD", together with Doc, Grumpy, Dopey, Bashful, Sneezy, Sleep and Happy.
Snow White: 16 inches tall; dwarves about 8 inches tall.
CONDITION: Chip and loss to one finger of Snow White
PROVENANCE: Unknown
$500-700 for the complete set*

Thanks for asking!
I can't appraise anything I can't see a photo of, but it does make sense to appraise this as a set so please add additional photos when you can and I'll update this appraisal accordingly.

Will I have to pay more for this?
No. As long as an item can be reasonably be expected to sell as a set, there's no additional charge.
Of course, if you want to know how much EACH FIGURE is worth separately, that WOULD require a separate appraisal for each...and would be quite a bit more expensive .
I would sell as a set so an estimated value for everything would be perfect. Thank you. I will upload the additional photos
OK - I'm unplugging momentarily so if I don't see this tonight I will appraise the set in the morning.
You're all set, Ashley, thanks!
I listed my collection on eBay. A Snow White collector messaged me and said that the collection is made by a hobbyist and not Evan Shaw. I’m confused. Can you explain?
Hi Ashley,
I've handled Disney collectibles for years and am pretty confident in my appraisal; it's important to note that Ebay is full of trolls who have nothing better to do with their time. I'm sure for everything out there, there is another similar one copied by an enthusiast. Did they say why they think this? 99 out of 100 times, they are looking for a deep discount on what is otherwise a fair price. It's been my experience that someone looking for a cheap price will go away if you ask them why they think that's the case. If they really are legitimate and highly knowledgeable, they should be able to provide you with an explanation as to the difference between a purported copy and an original.
If I've missed anything, I'm happy to revisit my appraisal and provide a more accurate evaluation if one's warranted.
Keep me posted!
Delia
I told them I got it evaluated by an appraiser and you told me what it was. I asked how it would be stamped if it were a hobbyist and they said it’s a mold. I’ll just go with what you say. When I sell it should I provide the appraisal?
That's really interesting, Ashley, thanks for letting me know - I wasn't aware that these were mold-made and wonder if Evan Shaw was also using a mold. My value stands as initially stated but I've amended the wording of the appraisal to allow the chance that this was made with a mold, possibly by Shaw.
It's up to you as to whether or not you provide this appraisal with the purchase.
Let me know if you have additional questions, etc.
Delia
I have all seven dwarfs too. Would they sell better as a set? Are you allowed to say an estimated cost for the set without appraising the additional pieces?
