Custom Shadow box made by case of champions signed and authenticated (Steiner sticker) Walter Payton full jersey
Hi Karlee,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Walter Payton wore #34 throughout his entire NFL career, which spanned from 1975 to 1987, exclusively with the Chicago Bears. Payton made the jersey number iconic, and it is now one of the most famous numbers in sports history. The Chicago Bears retired #34 in his honor after his retirement, ensuring that no other player on the team would wear it again. The number has since become synonymous with Payton’s legacy as one of the greatest running backs of all time.
Payton collectibles have an enduring place in the heart of Chicago Bears fans and, somewhat unexpectedly, they'll pay more for his memorabilia than fans for other teams. Signed jerseys are "next level" and it's not uncommon for these that have his "original" signature (and not a facsimile signature) to retail for between $800 and $1,200; these are for later jerseys and a signed rookie jersey would be more, probably $1,000-1,500.
The values Mearto appraises at are Fair Market, and about 1/2-1/3 that of retail prices...in this case, a value of $600-900 (but if you're selling this online, you should ask $1,800 and go lower if you don't get any offers...it will save you from underselling it).

It doesn’t come with the COA we called Steiner and because it was so long ago we can’t get a replacement but has the Steiner sticker with the numbers on it. We got it in a storage unit that went to auction (was an old nfl players unit) and it was in an older looking shadow case so we had it redone and just got it back! I’ve only seen a few listed and sold of the rookie year signatures
