Dear Jesus,
I am happy to help you with this appraisal, but I cannot see the signature. Would you be able to take this work out of its frame by any chance?
Thank you,
Karine
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for your contacting Mearto with your appraisal enquiry.
The item presented appears to be an etching possibly from the end of the 19th century executed by a French artist. It is called “Quai aux fleurs”, depicting a Parisian scene on the river Seine. Some discolouration/ yellowing can be seen over than that, the etching is in good condition. The image size is 9” (h) x 7” (w). The work is signed on the lower right by the artist.
The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of similar European works without artist attribution, dating from the 1880s to the 1920s. The current condition (based on photographs provided) has been taken into consideration when determining the estimate.
Best regards,
Karine
