The diameter of this piece is approximately 1 1/4". Unlike most cameos that I've seen, the figure on this one is of an Angel, it appears to be a Male. The setting is marked inside 14K. Directly next to the cameo is a solid band, then a tiny beaded band and then an intricately swirled and beaded band. On the back you will find both a loop to wear it as a necklace, and a "secure lock" pin to wear it as a broach. Stamped on the back of the Cameo is the following: WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND '57 EC
Owned by Aunt, never exhibited, never saw her wear it, how she obtained it is unknown.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful Wedgewood pin with gold mounting. Such vintage and antique jewellery are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The design of the pin is very typical of the early 1900s where I believe this pin dates from. The 14 kt gold mounting is very nice as these items are often with goldplated mounting. The overall condition of the pin appears to be good without major signs of wear or use.
The origin is very clear as it is marked Made in England.
All in all I believe that this nice pin would attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online jewellery auction, where I believe the pin has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the Wedgewood pin. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
Thank you - I will continue to make it available for sale.
