This is an original 20th century work by the American, Chicago-based artist, Wesley Kimler (born 1953). After studying at the Laguna Gloria School of Art in Austin, Texas and 2 years at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design he landed his first exhibition show at the Frumkin-Struve Gallery in Chicago. He is known for large sized works that require physical strength to create the abstract 'gestural' depictions. He is also known for being quite outspoken as an artist his works are in various collections and shown in art galleries around the U.S. This work is an abstract, 'found' and shaped canvas that is mounted and shadow-box framed. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
