What does this mean?

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

You have a Victorian carved cameo bracelet and brooch. The cameo is originates in Italy, but was very popular in Victorian England. Your bracelet has ten cameos linked by a double chain and secured with a box clasp. The brooch is of a Roman soldier in profile and set within a pierced frame. The demand and value for these cameo pieces typically lies in three main areas; material (gold, diamond accents, etc), age (true antiquities) and craftsmanship (how fine is the carving).

Unfortunately, your bracelet is not gold, which definitely affects the fair market value. The carvings, although lovely, are lacking fine detail, which collectors seek. The brooch is a bit more desirable, and I would sell the two individually, to realize the fullest potential of each piece.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I'm happy to help.
