Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a handwoven tapestry by Dr. Ivan H. "Bill" Crowell (1904-2003). He taught biology among many other things, but also was a pewtersmith and later in his life he took on weaving, turning childrens' drawings into tapestries. This is one of the many he produced. I assume the now grown child, who did the original design, would be the perfect buyer for this particular tapestry. Dr. Crowell´s tapestries are only known locally, there is no established art market value to it. The fibre artist must have worked months on this tapestry, but unfortunately the art market is driven by supply and demand.
The estimate is based on similar size modern tapestries offered at auctions or in the trade.
