“Winchester model 94-30” “Made in New Haven, Conn. U.S. of America - Winchester proof steel” Wooden buttstock and fore grip area. No rust. Believed to be in Working condition yet I haven’t ever fired it. Serial number: 20417 20 inch barrel
My father was a firefighter and another firefighter in his department decided to change career and become a police officer in the early 1980’s so he asked my father if he’d like to buy his grandfather’s rifle. The reason he sold it was because the wife of the seller felt that he should only have one firearm in the home and if he’s going to be a police officer now he’ll have his service pistol.
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry, and I apologize for the delay. This is a Winchester Model 1894 carbine chambered in .30 W.C.F. It is fitted with a Redfield peep-sight, and a Marble Arms rear-sight dovetail block. The model 94 is one of the most popular and prolific American guns ever made, with nearly 8 million of them having been made. This particular piece is in fair condition, with some degradation of the steel of the receiver, and some lighter corrosion present on the rest of the gun. The stock is in good shape, with some wear present. It is missing its original butt-plate, and is fitted with an aftermarket recoil pad which unfortunately harms its value. Given the condition of this piece, and completed auctions of similar items, a fair market estimation is 600-650 dollars. Please reach out with any questions.
