Hi Susan

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

Fine Art Lamps is an American lighting manufacturer founded in 1940 in Miami, Florida. The company is known for producing complete lighting fixtures—including table lamps, floor lamps, chandeliers, sconces, and pendants—rather than only separate components.

They manufacture both the lamp bases/structures and often the shades or diffusers, depending on the design. Many of their pieces feature hand-crafted metalwork, glass, crystal, and fabric shades made to coordinate with the fixture.

Fine Art Lamps positions itself in the high-end decorative lighting market, emphasizing artistry, craftsmanship, and custom design rather than mass-produced parts. It was not uncommon for lamp makers in the 20th Century to use parts like sockets and shades from other makers so the presence of a label on the shade is not a guarantee this lamp was made by them if the same mark isn't on the base but sometimes the labels come off so I'll give this pair the benefit of the doubt and evaluate this pair on the assumption that the shade and base were both made by Fine Art Lamps.

The dark metal - you note steel, it may be an ebonized (black painted) brass or other metal such as lead, pewter or tin - is beautifully offset by the applied faceted glass or crystals in a chevron-shaped band.

The 'Winter Palace' collection by Fine Art Lamps included wall sconces, table lamps and chandeliers, all designed with warm silver-leaf or silver finishes and brilliant crystal elements, inspired by the grandeur of historic palaces and winter gardens.

While I've not found a matching pair, other Fine Art Lamps with similar decoration that have sold at auction have brought prices ranging from $400-600, with pairs garnering a premium and typically selling for $1,000 or more, depending on condition. It's worth noting that retailers would likely price such a pair at between $2,500 and $4,500.

Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

Good morning, you will see the tag (marker) sewn on the fabric inside both lampshades. Thank you
