Wittnauer Mickey Watches Gold laced with diamonds. Purchased in the late 90’s early 2000 In original boxes with price tags & paperwork.
Purchased at Disneyworld I believe.
Hello Bobby,
Thank you for sending in these wristwatches to mearto.com for an appraisal. We can only do one watch for each appraisal, so I have chosen the watch with Mickey Mouse and the day and date to appraise for you today. However, I will briefly do the second watch appraisal in a summary form. Therefore, the values provided are for both watches, the pair taken as a single unit.
TITLE:
Ladies, gold toned stainless steel, self-winding quartz, Disneyland Mickey Mouse watch with rhinestone dial, made by Wittnauer in Switzerland, circa late 1990s-early 2000s. The watch is accompanied by full set of box and paper work from Wittnauer along with the retail price when (??) purchased from Nordstrom’s dept. store and was $550 plus tax, etc.
PROVENANCE:
“Wittnauer Mickey Watches Gold laced with diamonds. Purchased in the late 90’s early 2000. In original boxes with price tags & paperwork.”
Case: 24/25 mm wide x 30 mm long x 8 mm thick, this is a two leaf stainless steel wristwatch in a tonneau shaped watch case with round screwed down steel back cover, the back cover engraved, base Metal bezel ring, Stainless steel Case, water resistant, Wittnauer, sapphire crystal, There is a fluted gilt metal fixed bezel with polished harp-shaped lugs and fluted push-pull crown. The watch is integrated with a gold plated steel link bracelet with Wittnauer marked steel folding clasp. Dial: Sapphire crystal, scratch-resistant, overlies this champagne colored metal dial with eleven diamond hour indices, open bar minutes/seconds ring, day/date single aperture @3, gilt baton hands and a center seconds gilt pointer. The dial has an applied design of Mickey Mouse with a hand on his hip and the dial is marked, “Wittnauer”.

Condition: In overall excellent condition.
SECOND DISNEY WRISTWATCH:
The second wristwatch was the men’s version, approximately 36mm made of the same materials and retail priced at $950 plus tax. I will assume it is also gold toned or gold plated stainless steel and has 36 diamond chips around the bezel with a seven link wide gold toned link bracelet with steel fold over clasp. It appears that one or both watches was obtained from Walt Disney attractions in Lake Buena Vista, Florida and one may have been from Nordstrom, or Nordstrom was involved in the sale with the Disney Company. In a distinctive Mickey Mouse shaped box introduced for the 80 Year Anniversary of Mickey Mouse men's wrist watch. This example has cut diamonds on the bezel was created by the Wittnauer Watch Company. This wristwatch has a diamond chip gold toned bezel, steel back cover (not shown), and the dial with applied gilt Roman hours at 12 and 6 and the balance of the hours in Baton hour indices. The movement would be a Swiss made quartz example also. The boxing is the same as in the ladies watch.

PRICING:
Since you have all of the paperwork and booklets as well as having two quartz watches that are in very fine condition, I would give each of these watches a fair market value range from $150 (the ladies watch)-$200 (the men’s version) making the fair market value for the pair in the 300-$375 range with a retail value for both watches taken as a set about twice that amount. (By providing the value for the pair I have deducted $25 from the total since a pair will sell for slightly less that the sum of its parts). The condition of the two watches is what raises their value a bit, otherwise each would sell for under $100.
Thank you for choosing mearto.com.
My best,
David
