The necklace is a large disc 2 3/4 inch across, one side is covered with rings the other side is the YSL mark and what appears to be Saint Laurent’s hammered metal finish, the chain is 34 3/4 inches with out hook and ring I purchased this item in California at a fundraising event
It was purchased at a small fundraising event for the Society for Creative Anachronism ( S.C.A a historical education and re-creation group). It was purchased approximately October of 2001, It was a donation based event so the previous owners are un-known Members attended from all over the western USA and some from overseas I never looked into the item until a few years ago and can only recognize it as a Saint Laurent item, Considering the caliber of attendees the item could be a original item by Saint Laurent himself and I have been able to find nothing like it in the years I’ve been looking
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful vintage pendant and necklace. Such vintage designer accessories are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
It is a lovely and very elegant pendant and necklace. I would date the pendant to have been made in the last quarter of the 1900s. The material is probably goldcoloured metal and not real gold. The condition appears to be fairly good with some signs of wear and use.
Accessories by high end designers as Yves Saint Laurent tend to interest many second hand buyers and collectors.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online vintage designer accessories auction, where I believe the YSL pendant has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the pendant and necklace. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
