This is an yixing teapot probably made from the 1960s to the 1980s. It has a maker's mark and is signed. It has all the hallmarks of a yixing teapot including the iron and white spots
Seller sold it to me.
Dear Chris,
You have indeed A Yixing teapot made in Jiangsu in China. I believe its made in the 1980ties of 1990ties so its not an antique pot. I cannot see enough of the bottom mark to give you a clue about that but in general speaking the marks rarely refer to the date of manufacturing but more a tribute to an old emperor. I do not know all the recent makers marks. Some are also unknown if pots are made for export. Your pot doesn't have the high quality I want to see to be really start looking for the maker of the pot.
Nice pot. Please drink tea from it !
Thank you for the quick response. I am slowly learning about Chinese pottery and you response is excellent.
