Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful Alvin Sterling flatware set. Such vintage flatware sets are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The pattern of your flatware set is called Bridal Bouquet. It was made by Alvin Sterling between 1900-1930s. It has a lovely design with all the flowers covering the handles of the pieces. It appears to be in fairly good condition and you have not mentioned any engravings or initials in the flatware set. As far as I can count there is approximately 70 pieces in the set and this is the amount of pieces that the appraisal is based on.
I believe that this set would attract the attention of both collectors and dealers if it came up for auction.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online silver auction, where I believe the flatware has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the beautiful flatware set. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
