I’m not sure what material. It appears to be hand made Persian wool rug.
My father purchased it from a rug dealer in San Francisco around 1986.
Dear customer,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a Persian rug with measurements of 10 x 13.5 feet. It has floral decor on a beige background. It was probably made in the 20th century in wool on cotton in the region of Ghom.
There is a possibility that this could be a silk rug that has to be testes physically. In this case, the estimate would be 2.000 to 4.000 USD.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 500 to 1.000 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
