The Delphi pattern was a design created by Paragon specifically for Debenhams, the British department store. Paragon often produced exclusive patterns for retailers, so “Delphi – Debenhams” is essentially Paragon-made china sold under Debenhams’ name. By the 1960s–1970s, Paragon had been acquired into the Royal Doulton Group.
This means that any Paragon pieces made in that era — including Delphi for Debenhams — were technically under the Royal Doulton corporate umbrella, even though the Paragon brand was still being used on the backstamp.
While retail websites like Replacements can ask two- and three-figures for individual pieces, when services of Delphi for Debenham come to auction - in the Paragon pattern as well as others - they rarely exceed an average of $2-4 per piece.
